Tiffany & Co. | Fall expression of Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste
Madrid, Spain (2024)— Tiffany & Co. today announces the third and final launch phase of Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste, debuting new masterpieces from the celebrated high jewelry collection. Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste celebrates Jean Schlumberger’s boundless imagination and his fascination with the mysteries of the universe. Tiffany’s Chief Artistic Officer of Jewelry and High Jewelry, Nathalie Verdeille pays homage to the works of legendary Tiffany & Co. designer Jean Schlumberger in four new chapters: Owl on a Rock, Phoenix, Unicorn and Star Burst. Each chapter reinterprets an iconic Jean Schlumberger creation, including his most emblematic Tiffany & Co. design: the Bird on a Rock.
“Each chapter began with an intensive study of the subjects or themes that inspired it. For the fall launch of Tiffany Céleste, the Star Burst, Phoenix, Owl on a Rock and Unicorn chapters reference archival Jean Schlumberger masterpieces, such as his Phoenix brooch,” said Nathalie Verdeille, Chief Artistic Officer, Tiffany & Co. “Each new design is an ode to Jean Schlumberger’s boundless creativity.”
A modern twist on Jean Schlumberger’s iconic Bird on a Rock, the series of Owl on a Rock brooches features the nocturnal bird, perched on a “moon rock.” Representing mystery, magic and the spirit world, the owl brooches portray the Bird on a Rock at night, keeping with the spirit of the starry sky. Each owl motif has a distinct personality and character that complements the gemstone on which it is perched. Black opals, moonstones, tanzanites and celestial star sapphires capture the look and feel of the moon and the night sky.
Re-envisioning the mesmerizing Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Phoenix brooch, the Phoenix motif is a representation of the mythological bird symbolizing rebirth as it bursts into flames and rises from the ashes, obtaining new life. The name “phoenix” is derived from an Ancient Greek word that describes a fiery red color, which speak to the gemstones featured within the theme. A brooch and a ring each feature a remarkable fire opal with Umba sapphires, while other designs feature rubellites, emblemizing the hues of the phoenix’s flames. One exceptional necklace features 17 cushion-cut rubellites of over 73 total carats.
The Unicorn is a mythical creature that captured Jean Schlumberger’s imagination, particularly its striking swirled horn. This theme draws inspiration from Jean Schlumberger’s Crazy Twist designs, highlighting the diamond-encrusted twists with rich purple and pink sapphires. This chapter showcases an extraordinarily imaginative Unicorn brooch that showcases an undeniably magical bicolor cushion-cut tourmaline of over 25 carats.
The Star Burst chapter is an ode to galaxies with high starburst activity, among the most luminous in the universe. These designs exhibit brilliant luminosity, including a necklace featuring six oval cabochon Crystal opals of over 64 total carats and diamonds.
The House will also welcome new designs from the previously unveiled chapters; Apollo, Arrow, Ray of Light and Shooting Star; to the Fall iteration. Each creation rediscovers Jean Schlumberger’s iconic interpretations of the sun, moon, stars, distant galaxies and fantasy worlds.
The fall launch of Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste collection will debut at an exclusive high jewelry event in Madrid this fall.
