TIFFANY & CO. | Bird on a Rock Collection

Tiffany & Co. announces a new Bird on a Rock collection celebrating the iconic Tiffany & Co. brooch and Jean Schlumberger’s legacy. Introduced in 1965, Schlumberger’s signature design evolves into a world of extraordinary creations, each a modern re-envisioning of his cockatoo-inspired brooch. The collection will debut in phases over the course of 2023, commencing on April 28 with subsequent launches in the summer and fall. Anchoring the collection are four statement suites each thematically centered around a gemstone species. Capturing the motion of flight, the birds alight and take wing as they interact with these remarkable gemstones. Each suite features a necklace, bracelet, earrings, rings, brooches and pendants.

Bird on a Rock is one of the world’s most celebrated jewels. It remains as coveted today as it was when Tiffany & Co. first introduced it over 50 years ago. Today, Tiffany’s designers have reinterpreted the icon. The signature bird is depicted in different stances and in flight, lending a sense of motion and surrealism like only Jean Schlumberger could.

“The bird is placed majestically on a gem, intentionally divergent in scale, and its head is held high and upright. The bird contemplates the surrounding landscape from the vantage of its perch,” said Nathalie Verdeille, Chief Artistic Officer, Jewelry and High Jewelry, Tiffany & Co. “Bird on a Rock evokes a feeling of freedom so genuine; now we witness it spread its wings and soar limitlessly above and beyond.”

Tiffany & Co. will offer a spectacular white diamond suite. One of the rings from the white diamond suite features an impressive diamond of over 5 carats. In addition to the statement suites, the House will offer new Bird on a Rock pendants. These designs showcase the diamond-encrusted bird in a frontal stance for the first time as it alights a vibrant gemstone. Several pendants are set with Tiffany & Co. legacy gemstones. The Bird on a Rock pendants uplift impressive Tiffany & Co. legacy gemstones, such as a 31-carat tanzanite, a 26-carat kunzite and a 23-carat morganite. The new Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger® Bird on a Rock collection debuts in phases over the course of this year. The first launch will coincide with the grand reopening of the Tiffany & Co. Fifth Avenue Landmark.
